Do you have a deep cleaning, post reno and move in/out option?
We like to keep things simple and have made our standard clean a deep clean. It’s hard to #takebackyourday when some surfaces are left untouched! We are working hard on providing a post reno service very soon.
My house hasn’t been professionally cleaned in a while, does this matter?
Not at all - to help further you might want to add some additional extras like inside the oven or hand wash baseboards. However, we do reserve the right to cancel and refund if the condition of the property is in a state of disrepair or determined to be unsafe.
How many hours do you clean for?
The provided time estimate is a good indicator for how long your booking will typically take. We clean by the booking not by the hour - this means we only finish when our extensive checklist is complete.

Does On Our Way just match me with a cleaner that doesn’t work for you directly?
We do not operate a marketplace. All our cleaners are employees of On Our Way and go through our rigorous application process. All our employees are highly trained, insured, bonded, validated, vaccinated and background checked.
Do I get the same cleaner every time?
If the days and times of your bookings are consistent, our system will always do its best to lock you in with the same cleaner(s). Sometimes it is impossible to do so (vacations, competing bookings etc) but you can always let us know if you want to request a different cleaner.
Do you bring your own supplies?
Yes! Always. We can use your own vacuum/mop if you want - just let us know.
What if I’m not happy and want a refund?

Can you clean just some rooms instead of the entire home?
Yes. The options on the booking form allow for a custom amount of bedrooms and bathrooms, along with a notes section to clarify your exact needs.
What type of products do you use?
We use safer choice products. "Safer choice" means biodegradable and ingredients that aren't harsh to the skin, but still being able to take out tough stains etc.
Can I pay with Apple Pay on my phone?
Yes! We are the first home cleaning company in Ontario to offer apple pay payment for bookings and tips. Give it a try!

How do I create an On Our Way account?
In order to use the On Our Way Platform you must be 18 years of age or older.
Creating an On Our Way account requires a phone number and a valid email address. You will also need to create a password and agree to our terms and conditions along with our privacy notice.
Fill in your Mobile number and create a password. Once you complete this part of the signup process, we send a text SMS to verify your phone number.
Next, enter your Personal Information (Full Name,address, etc.) and payment information. Adding a credit card or debit card number allows your cleans to be automatically charged after each clean. Please note that we cannot accept prepaid cards.
After you provide this info, we'll send you a text to confirm your account registration. Once you confirm, you'll be able to book your On Our Way clean and experience the difference.

Requirements
To get started with On Our Way, you’ll need:
- Need to be at least 18 years old
- Reliable car/ Driver’s License
- Pass the background check
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Mobile phone with Internet
- Must be able to lift up to 25kg
- Agree with the Privacy & Security, Terms and Conditions
How much do cleaners get paid and do they take all tips, if given? Do they earn more than minimum wage?
We only take a percent commission of the total amount of the price per job and we are pleased to share on average, a cleaner is paid more than above minimum wage and industry average. Any tips given will 100% go directly to your cleaner, always.
How to book a clean
Here’s how to book a clean:
- Sign in to your On Our way account
- Go to the Booking section
- Fill in the information (extras and notes to cleaners are optional)
- Pick a cleaner. You can view the cleaners’ profile; they’ve provided a short introductory video 😉
- Booking Summary. Need to add extras or note, you can still add by clicking “Go Back”
- Once a cleaner accepts your request, you’ll get a notification confirming the booking.
Get a cleaning estimate
At On Our Way, we understand how valuable your time is - no in person visit or long list of questionnaires. You can simply Sign Up - only takes a couple minutes, then you can go to the booking section, input your address and Voila!
Changing your Cleaning location/Rescheduling/Adding extras/Cancelling
You can simply Sign in to your On Our Way account and go to the calendar section. Select the specific date that you want to modify, there would be an option to view or reschedule. You click reschedule to modify address, dates, extras or notes. Once updated just hit update/ok.
After my clean
Once the clean is finished, we do require the cleaner to send the customer photos for approval and once approved then the full amount of the clean will be charged on the customer’s method of payment.
How to tip a cleaner
You are free to tip and cleaners are free to accept. You can tip your cleaner at the end of the clean through the app. When prompted to provide a rating, first select a rating for your cleaner (we also ask if you can provide a comment on how the clean went 😀)and then you will be given the option to add a top as well. On Our Way takes zero ($0) service fees on tips, all of it goes to the cleaners.
How is your price lower than other cleaning companies? How do you make money?
We’re able to provide low prices because we’ve created a low-cost home services community that is powered by the latest technology. We don’t operate like a traditional cleaning business, therefore we have much lower overheads (no fancy branded cars, big marketing spend etc.) which means we can pass the savings onto our amazing customers. We make money on a commission percent from every job and we plan on launching more features in the future that will be premium and carry additional fees.

A cleaner or customer’s overall rating is displayed as an average. For instance, a highly rated customer might have a 4.8 stars. Candid, constructive, and respectful feedback is beneficial for everyone.
Providing a rating fosters mutual respect between customers and cleaners. This strengthens our community and helps everyone get the most from On Our Way and we do appreciate your participation.

How is my billing/personal information kept safe and secure, when do I get billed?

We hold a small charge on your credit card to reserve the booking and once the job is complete the full billing will complete. Only after the job do you have the option to tip, not before.

What if a cleaner breaks or damages something while cleaning? Should I lock all my valuables?
Building and gaining your trust is a critical priority for On Our Way. To guarantee the safety of your possessions; we make sure that anyone who enters your home is insured, bonded and background checked. You don’t have to lock your valuables but you can if it provides peace of mind. We recognize it is a personal act to allow someone into your home and want you to be comfortable.
We also have added in additional safety mechanisms you won’t find from any other cleaning providers such as a digital photo checklist.

What if the cleaning is unsatisfactory?
The cleaners utmost goal is to give you the best cleaning possible every time. In an event where the cleaning is not done to your satisfaction, you can contact the cleaner directly and/or our customer service and we will be more than happy to make it right.

The best way to locate an item that may have been misplaced is by contacting the cleaner directly or you can send us an incident report here on how to access.
How to contact your cleaner
- On your On Our Way Profile, you can click the notification/message icon
- You can search for the name of the cleaner and can the connect with them.
- If they don’t answer within the next couple hours, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly, click here
NOTE: If for any circumstances the item(s) is not found; we will escalate this to the person(s) of authority and will have it further investigated. Rest assured, all of our cleaners are bonded and insured, we take the gravity of the employment breach as a very serious matter.
I had a safety issue

To help protect the health and safety of everyone, we're requiring masks or face covers be worn when cleaning while the customers are in the house
Please note that cleaners and customers who repeatedly violate the mask policy risk losing access to On Our Way.

I was discriminated against by my cleaner/cleaner was unprofessional
We are sorry to hear about this. We take allegations of discrimination very seriously. When cleaners sign up with On Our Way they agree to a set of Community Guidelines, which prohibit unprofessional behavior, inappropriate physical contact, or verbal aggression. On Our Way cleaners agree to maintain a high standard of professional service that includes being respectful and polite. If that was not your experience, please share the details with us.
